Independent R&D lab

Curious ideas. Real software.

I’m Dan Larsen, and Techbase is my independent research and development lab. This is where I build software, explore creative tools, and see what promising ideas can become.

Some projects are ready to use. Others are still on the workbench.

What I’m exploring

Follow the interesting questions.

Tools for making tools.

With Genny and Runner, I’m exploring how app generation and development workflows can leave code, decisions and review in the developer’s hands.

Room to play.

I’m interested in tools that keep musical ideas editable. A Minor Idea and LaiVE explore different parts of that question, from a short melody to composition in Ableton Live.

AI you can inspect.

Through Cortexium, Techbase Bridge and API MCP, I’m exploring practical AI workflows where I can inspect results and keep permissions and important decisions explicit.

Small questions, curious detours.

I like giving a focused question a concrete form. ShowIP answers a network question; RockBot is an experiment in when a robot should listen, reply or stop talking.

Something to explore together?

Alongside my own projects, I’m open to collaborations in software development, architecture and practical AI.

If you have an interesting problem and think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear about it.
