About Techbase
A lab for curious ideas.
I’m Dan Larsen. Techbase is my independent research and development lab: a home for the software, tools and experiments I’m building.
Follow an idea. See what happens.
My interests range from high-performance code and software architecture to music, network utilities, practical AI and robotics. I like turning a question into something I can try, inspect and improve.
Some questions are small and practical: ShowIP is available for finding a public IP address and understanding a connection. Others open up creative possibilities: A Minor Idea has a free iPhone TestFlight beta for keeping short melodies as audio and editable notes, while LaiVE experiments with composition and production in Ableton Live.
I’m also exploring the tools behind the work. Genny, still private and in development, generates editable Go and Vue apps. Runner is a public beta for taking local development tasks through planning, implementation and review. Cortexium explores inspectable AI-assisted development, and RockBot is a local voice and robotics experiment.
A prototype gives me a way to learn what an idea needs. Some experiments may grow into usable products; others remain useful questions on the workbench. Each project page explains where the work stands and what is available today.
What I’m exploring →Something to explore together?
Alongside my own projects, I’m open to collaborations in software development, architecture and practical AI.
If you have an interesting problem and think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear about it.
