LaiVE

Explore AI-assisted composition and production in Ableton Live, with musical work you can open, hear and edit.

Develop the notes and the sound together.

LaiVE is a local experiment in turning a musical brief into an editable Ableton Live project. The work includes notes, instruments and arrangement, so a musician can continue shaping the piece in Live.

The Live workflow starts with a brief and a prepared project. Agents develop material and sounds incrementally, capture audio for listening, and revise the project. An offline path can also turn a composition plan into a score, MIDI and audio for rendering or import.

The listening is part of the work.

A playable project is a starting point for musical judgment. Notes and timing can be inspected, but listening still determines whether the form, instrumentation and production serve the idea. Editable output makes those choices available for further work.

LaiVE depends on a configured local Ableton environment and the instruments and sounds available there. It is an experiment, with no established public download or hosted service. It makes no promise about the artistic quality of a generated piece.

If you are interested in music tools that leave room for hands-on composition and production, I’d be happy to discuss the approach.
